How long does it take to write a book?
Automatically written fiction and nonfiction typically take 30–60 minutes, with longer waits possible when demand is high or a chapter needs a retry. You can read completed chapters while writing progresses. Interactive Fiction moves at your pace: after each chapter, it waits for your direction before generating the next one. You can return to your library later to continue. We send an email when the full book is complete.
How long are the books?
Books typically range from 40,000 to 100,000 words, depending on the topic and type. That's roughly 150 to 350 pages — a solid, full-length read.
How does Interactive Fiction work?
Choose Interactive Fiction, describe your premise, and read Chapter I free. After purchase, open your story in the reader and tell us what should happen next. We generate one chapter using your direction and the story so far, then pause again. Choose one of three suggested continuations, each based on your story so far, or use the fourth option to write your own direction. Continue at your own pace through Chapter XXVI; the final chapter completes the story. Your place is saved in your library.
How are the books structured?
Nonfiction books include a table of contents, an introduction, and 25 chapters. Fiction uses 26 chapters. Interactive Fiction also has 26 chapters, with a simple contents list from Chapter I through Chapter XXVI. Its plot unfolds from your directions rather than an advance outline.
How much do the books cost?
Every book is $24.99, with no subscription. This includes all 26 chapters of an Interactive Fiction story, with no charge per turn. You can preview the opening free before purchasing.
What kinds of books can I create?
Just about anything! Fiction (novels, short stories, children's books) and nonfiction (how-to guides, memoirs, history, science, self-help, and more). You can also choose Interactive Fiction to direct the plot yourself, one chapter at a time. Just describe your idea and we'll bring it to life.
How does the free preview work?
Fiction previews include a proposed table of contents and first chapter; nonfiction previews include a table of contents and introduction. Interactive Fiction previews only Chapter I, so future plot turns stay open to your decisions. Sign in or create a free account to generate and save a preview, with no payment required. Purchase only when you want to continue.
Can I publish or sell books I create?
Yes, subject to our Terms of Service. Before publishing, selling, or sharing a book, you are responsible for reviewing and editing the entire manuscript, fact-checking claims and sources, checking both supplied and generated material for copyright and other rights issues, and obtaining any necessary permissions. We do not guarantee factual accuracy, originality, or freedom from infringement. You must also meet your publisher's or marketplace's requirements, including any required AI-content disclosures.
Do the books include pictures or diagrams?
Currently, MixCache Go generates text-only books. Pictures, diagrams, and other illustrations are not supported at this time. Requesting a book with pictures will still result in a text-only book.
Is there a limit to how many books I can create?
No — you can create as many books as you like. All books you create are saved to your personal library, which you can access anytime from the website.
Where can I read my books?
MixCache Go includes a built-in web reader so you can read your books directly on the website. You can also download the book to read offline whenever you like.
Can I edit the book after it's generated?
In Interactive Fiction, you can edit the latest chapter on the book page while the story is paused or complete. Choose Edit chapter, make your changes, then Save chapter. Your saved text updates the online book and is used when writing the next chapter. You can also download any completed book as a plain-text file and edit it in your preferred writing tool; edits to a downloaded file do not update the online book.
